You rant very charmingly, Mark. Concrete was the saviour of architecture. It has given us the great high-rises of many cities, including New York, it gave us the flowing lines of art deco and the Odeon style. It gave us the astonishing Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland - its wooden predecessor was burned down by arsonists in 1922. Concrete is a material of great versatility, fire resistance, durability and is nowadays a most practical use for human excrement, from which much is made. It's great that Ms Merchant has observant eyes; perhaps your letter will give her an observant heart as well.
